Course Description
This course is designed for those seeking to add to information technology career in the area of desktop applications in a governmental structure (GS, military, prime/subcontractor) or commercial business.

Upon successful completion of this course the student receives the certification of Desktop Application Professional - Federal Government Emphasis.

This course prepares the student to take the Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access MOS Microsoft Office Specialist exams.

Excel 2003

Outlook 2003
Handling mail messages, using the address book, working with contacts, managing tasks, managing appointments, working with events, customizing outlook and accessible e-mail. Using new SharePoint features search folders, quick flags, integrating the SharePoint calendar with Outlook 2003, shared workspace and meeting workspaces.
Access 2003
Planning and designing databases, Working with Access. Building and modifying tables. Building and modifying forms. Viewing and organizing information. Defining relationships. Producing reports. Integrating with other applications. Using Access tools. Analyzing and normalizing. Access databases in government work. Student Labs
Student labs include hands on practical application of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Access.
Instructional Methods:
This course combines lecture, presentation, laboratory hands-on exercises, discussions and problem solving.  Assessments will be made by practical exercises and examinations/quizzes.
